7 EASY STEPS  TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SPECTACLE

  • Frame must be chosen properly according to the prescription and profession. Take special note of the size which fits you comfortably and nicely.REMEMBER although looks are important, comfort and good vision are more important.
  • CHOSE THE RIGHT LENS– Plastic CR-39 Lenses are better than glass lenses for most people. All CR-39 lenses must be coated with Anti-scratch lacquer to protect the lenses from scratching. The coating must be given on the front and back surface of the lens.If you are working with computers or in bright artificial lighted environments insist on an ARC-Anti Reflection Coating. You can also add oleophobic coating for smudge resistance and anti electrostatic coating for dust repellence to make cleaning your lenses easier. Anti fog coating is also available now for people frequently moving from AC to Non AC environments.
  • If your prescription is higher than -4.00 spherical or cylinder opt for a high index lens which will be thinner and better looking than normal lenses. If you have chosen a rimless frame it is advisable to opt for MR-8 lenses instead of CR-39. MR-8 lenses are thinner, dont break easily and are crack resistant. Aspheric lenses are also recommended for higher powers due to better aesthetics.
  • The lens must be fit in the frame as per Doctors instructions. Now automated machines like “KAPPA” are used to fit lenses with 100% accuracy. After a lens is fit and received from the factory it must be checked by the doctor or optometrist for quality inspection and accuracy of power.
  • Dispensing of your new spectacles by your optometrist or eye doctor is the most important step. This ensures all the above steps are done properly. You will also get to “see” if your vision is as it was when the doctor or optometrist tested you. You will also be thought the right place to wear the specs on your nose and the posture to adopt while using computer or reading.
  • Taking care of your spectacles- is very critical if you want to enjoy the same clear vision throughout the year as when you bought it new. wash or use a spray to remove dirt from the lens on both sides before you wipe. use only recommended soft cloth to wipe. Do not use rough cloth. when you wipe do not use circular motion but rather wipe it from the inside to the temple(outside). change your nose-pads every 3 months to keep it soft and supple. This way you will not get marks on your nose.
  • Last but not the least check your eyes every year even if do not have a problem. That way you can detect any disease early enough and prevent damage to your precious eyes.
